Maps, Characters and their backstories, and Location Information
It is important to note: The creatures of Hollow Mortes are different from the creatures we on Earth think of. They have been removed from our world for so long that they have evolved in new ways. Some still share many similarities with their Ancestors from Earth, but many have changed drastically.
World Map
PLEASE NOTE: This is a rough sketch of the world.

Cosmic Universal Energy (CUE)
It is the energy of the universe. It is the power source behind all magic. In the early days sigils were used to channel CUE, but the more modern method is through rune spells. Anyone with enough stamina and skill can use CUE.
Runes
They are the source of most magic in Hollow Mortes. Runes are symbols that allow for the channeling of universal cosmic energy (CUE) in various forms to perform various tasks. Runes are etched on items in specific patterns and combinations in order to cast spells. Sometimes the spell caster must recite specific words along with the use of runes, but it is not always required. It is usually done to enhance the power of a spell, rather than a way to perform a spell.
Vampires
Known as creatures of the night on Earth, many vampires of Hollow Mortes are active both in the day and at night. While they do have a hypersensitivity to sunlight, they have developed fashion and technology to make their lives during the day more comfortable. Additionally, Hollow Mortes vampires do not have the same weaknesses to crosses or garlic as their ancestors. They are vulnerable to UV light, silver, and some forms of magic.
Vampires are capable of a unique form of magic that does not come from Runes. It is not something that is well documented or studied so the origins of Vampire magic is unclear. However, from what is known about it, vampire magic seems to have a genetic component to. This means that not all vampires posses magical powers.

Werewolves
Werewolves were not incorporated into Hollow Mortes by way of werewolves from Earth. Instead, they originated from a single normal wolf from Earth, named Fyn. The ledged goes that Fyn was a lone wolf who wondered into Hollow Mortes where he met the witch Eevlyn. She gave him the power to speak and helped him learn magic. After her death in the War of Six Realms, Fyn used his knowledge of magic to create the first werewolves.
These werewolves, unlike the ones on Earth, can transform into their hybrid human/wolf forms at any time. They are weak against silver, but feel an enhanced strength and speed under a full moon. They are mildly colorblind and have massively enhanced senses. Some werewolves are able to hear a heartbeat from a mile away.
It takes great skill and many years of training to master the senses and skills granted to werewolves. Under the supervision of Fyn’s first werewolf, Oslo, the Brotherhood of Wolves was formed. The Brotherhood trains relentlessly to hone their skills and master their abilities. They have since transformed into a quasi religious organization, worshiping Fyn as a god and Oslo as a kind of saint, referring to him as “Saint Oslo”. Their sworn enemy is the race of vampires, as the two species have been at war since the Brotherhood’s inception.
Werewolves can either be born naturally or made. However, regardless of how they are created, the power of the wolf sometimes turns of them, something the Brotherhood calls “Losing the Wolf’s Blessing”. Losing the Blessing involves the werewolf slowly losing motor control, bouts of sharp and sometimes agonizing pain, and a lose of control over their transformations. Most who lose the blessing end up stuck in their hybrid form and lose their minds, becoming rampaging killing machines who recognize no friend or foe.
Baalthene
The Baalthene are a group of forest dwelling nomads. They were once human but have used rune magic to fuse themselves with forest creatures of their choosing to become something unique. They are shunned by much of Hollow Mortes and keep to themselves. The Baalthene began as humans who became trapped in Hollow Mortes after the Battle of Six Realms. Determined to make new lives for themselves, they set out to create new settlements and start new relations with the other creatures of Hollow Mortes. They were rejected and hunted for being human and sought to end their persecution by becoming something other than human. Using rune magic they have altered their form, transfiguring body parts into those of animals. Some have the head and feet of deer while others have the head of a rabbit. Some look more human than others, having only the tail and ears of a fox or sheep.
This effort however, backfired spectacularly and the Baalthene were exiled to the various forests that inhabit Hollow Mortes. They are no longer hunted, but they are avoided and shunned by all.
Baalthene are not born as hybrids. They are born human.
Witches
The most prolific magic users in Hollow Mortes are witches. These are women with a high connection to the energy of the universe and are able to manipulate and channel it through rune spells. Their wands are often etched with runes to enhance their specific specialties. Many are part of Covens which in Hollow Mortes are organizations with different specialties that can contribute to society in some way. Some witches work alone, though they are few and far between.
Witches may work in places of high rank, such as in government. Many work through their covens to perform construction or farming and law enforcement.
